Here's a page I'm working on with updated information about all the Mardi Gras Parades and their Krewe's for 2011. This year Mardi Gras Day is on March 8, 2011, and the parades start to roll on February 19th with "Krew De Vieux" which goes through the Marigny triangle and the lower French Quarter beginning at 6:30 pm. :-)
Information on the rest of the parades and some fun facts can be found here:

Mardi Gras 2011 - The Adventure
Here I am in New Orleans as the festivities begin and Carnival moves into full swing. I lived here for a number of years, and I think the Big Easy is one of the most amazing cities on Earth. Known for it's bohemian culture, cool jazz and blues music, art and performances in the street, huge parades, big festivals, and delicious food- New Orleans is the place to be.
Only a few weeks ago I got in my car and made the 3,000 mile journey from Seattle to come Home in time for Mardi Gras. I'm really enjoying being back, going to all my favorite restaurants, seeing old friends, and getting into the spirit of Mardi Gras.
I happen to also be a writer, and thought it would be fun to keep a log of my journey and share some picture's here. If you're local or visiting New Orleans for Mardi Gras, you'll find lot's of tips and information as this progresses. Don't forget to bookmark the page and come back for more revelry!
